Lucky Title
Since your chance of keeping a lock pick relies upon your "Lucky" title, how do you increase your lucky title? Do you have to wait to play stupid games in the next "fun" weekend, or use up all your 4-leaf clovers, or is there another way?

I lead to believe it relies upon your treasure hunter and wisdom title tracks

lol, looks like the last 3 people to reply to this post have NOT even read the original post and understood what the question is about.
At the moment apart from the solutions the OP mentioned there is NO way to increase the lucky/unlucky title.
This is rather annoying, what would have been cool would have been if you successfully kept a lockpick after opening a chest you got lucky points and if your lockpick broke you got unlucky points.
Honestly dont know why anet have not put this feature in.
Give us an effective way to get the lucky/unlucky titles maxed plz anet.

Actually I did read it, and understood it quit well thank you. Did you? The premise of his question was based on an erroneous assumption; namely that your chances of not destroying a pick after using "relies" on the level of your Lucky title. My post was aimed at correcting that misconception and providing him/her an alternative method of increasing that chance.

And now Lucky actually has a purpose.... what the heck are those of us who went for Unlucky instead supposed to do?
[I only wanted "Unlucky" so I could max it to "Hated" because it sounds nifty.]

It was a stupid idea to give this title a meaning. It is acquired in such a stupid way that it hurts (stand in a corner for x straight hours).

Qft. Big dissapointment to see this Lockpicks being reliant on (even if only partially) this for increased effectiveness.

I think it would make a lot more sense if your lucky title went up one point for each lock successfully picked. As it sits now, your lucky title is unaffected by a successful pick, yet this title contributes toward the picks effectiveness. It makes no sense that a successfully picked lock does not increase your lucky title. The only way to increase your lucky title is to wait for certain events, and that's rather pointless. This should be amended, in my opinion.

There is no cursed by fate. Wretched is the max title on that track.

It's really unfortunate they made it reliant on this totally random skill track imo. Where's the boost for a dozen other things people put effort into... lucky doesn't deserve special treatment. :/

Correct
1 Hapless 5,000
2 Unlucky 10,000
3 Unfavored 25,000
4 Tragic 50,000
5 Wretched 100,000

It appears to have been changed. A guildie successfully opened a chest last night and checked his lucky title... sure enough, it hadn't changed. To have some totally random title contribute to the lockpicks effectiveness makes no sense in the first place, but to have a successful pick not contribute back makes even less sense, I think.

Until there is a way to get "lucky" up higher then "unlucky" I am buying no more lockpicks, they have been one use only for me and the most have been purples, VERY expensive so-so purples too :/

That, unfortunately, is typical. It's the main reason why I don't post (or even go to) forums much these days.

If you did read it, and "understood it quit well" (quite well?), the quote you gave from GW.com only says the same thing - that the chance of the lockpick remaining intact relies upon the rank in the "lucky" title. It may rely on your level of Treasure Hunter too, and it's not clear which title affects what or by how much, but the Lucky title is a factor.
At any rate, whether the Lucky title has any affect on lockpicks or not doesn't answer the question - how do you increase you're Lucky rank, even if you just want to increase it for fun?
Btw - the "Unlucky" title is not mentioned as having any affect on the lockpick.
